Installation Day! What Should You Expect When Installing Solar Panels?
February 2, 2021Professional Home Projects Can Be A Pain
If you have ever had remodeling or maintenance work done on your home, you understand how disruptive the process can be. Depending on the amount of type, work, and crew required, sections of your home can be off-limits for days, even weeks.
For example, suppose you decide to put an addition onto or within your home’s current structure. In that case, many times, entire areas, such as the kitchen, living room, or bedrooms, are unusable until the project has reached completion.
Solar Panel Installations – Easier Than Typical Home Remodels
Rest assured knowing that Massachusetts solar panel installations provided by BlueSel’s professional installation team avoid all of that. In fact, solar panel installations are not nearly the big projects that homeowners envision them to be.
Through meticulous professional inspection, design, and preparation, SunPower by BlueSel residential solar panel installations are quick, efficient, and minimally disruptive, ensuring that your solar panels work at optimal efficiency for your home.
Prior to the installation, there are a few necessary steps that we complete with you, as a guide through the process. These steps include:

We take a close look at your electrical panel and the size, shape, and condition of your home’s roof. From here, our solar installation professionals can create a design, specifically tailored to your home, electric panel, as well as your roof, and surrounding areas.
Solar Panel Permitting and Documentation
Our office works with local municipalities to properly apply for and complete the necessary building permits and other critical paperwork essential for Massachusetts and Cape Cod solar panel installations. This applies to both federal and state applications. Once the paperwork and home evaluation are completed the number of panels that your home needs are ordered and shipped, we schedule a time to install your system. Now comes the exciting stuff!

A Quick Repeated Roof Inspection
On the day of installation, our crew will once again inspect your roof, making absolutely sure that shingles are secure and that everything is good to go. Then we get to work!
Placing the Panels And Connecting Them To Your Home
First, we install the electrical wiring that will connect to your panel. We install the racking that will support your solar panels and then the panels themselves. From there, we secure the inverters, allowing your solar panels to convert the electrical current created by solar energy from DC to AC.
How Long Does It Take To Install Solar Panels?
Generally, most SunPower by BlueSel solar system installations take about a day or so to complete. Sometimes, depending on the size and scope of your system and home, installation can take up to three days maximum.
Wrapping Up The Paperwork
After physical installation, we wait for inspection and approval from your municipality before we can officially “flip the switch” and start saving with solar.
Sounds pretty straightforward, right?
Can I Install Solar Panels Myself?
While you can attempt to install solar panels yourself, we highly recommend against it. Solar panels are complicated pieces of technological equipment and should only be handled by a professional with years of experience in installation and maintenance training.
Attempting to install solar panels yourself can lead to costly expenses, such as breaking your solar panels or damaging your home. Working on top of your roof is inherently dangerous. So, for you, your home, and your family’s sake, let the professionals take care of your installation so that you can enjoy the benefits of going solar quickly, safely, and correctly.
